You need good speakers to hear what you’re doing. Don’t use your laptop’s built-in speaker unless you enjoy sounding like a toy piano underwater.
For practicing at home, grab a pair of studio monitors. Brands like KRK Rokit or Yamaha HS5 are classics. They give you a pure, uncolored sound. No bass-boosting nonsense.
If you’re on a budget, a decent portable Bluetooth speaker with an aux input works for practicing. But for real mixing, you need those monitors. Your ears will evolve, and they’ll thank you.
