So here’s the thing about domestic flooring: it’s personal. Your home is your sanctuary, your castle, your place to eat pizza in your underwear. You want it to feel warm, not like a hotel corridor.
Eric Gilbert’s domestic work is all about cozy vibes and durability. They’ve got everything from plush carpets you can nap on (guilty) to hard-wearing wood for those of us with chaotic pets.

Commercial flooring, though? That’s a different beast. Think industrial strength and “please don’t let the office chair wheels destroy this in a week.” They install stuff that laughs in the face of high traffic and spilled coffee.
The Fun Part: Options, Options, Options
I’m not going to lie—I get overwhelmed by carpet samples. There are too many beiges! But Eric’s team apparently has a knack for narrowing it down without making you feel like an idiot for liking “oatmeal” over “sand.”
They do carpets, vinyl, laminate, real wood, and even luxury vinyl tile (which sounds expensive but is basically magic). And they’ll tell you straight: “That one looks nice but your dog will destroy it in a Tuesday.”
