Okay, you don’t know anyone famous. Don’t panic. There are still cracks in the fortress. It just requires a bit of hustle and a lot of luck.
First, you can be a film critic for a major outlet. The Academy gives a few seats to press. But you have to be a legit critic, not just a guy with a blog about popcorn reviews.
Second, you can work for the Academy itself. Volunteers, ushers, and production assistants get to hang around. You won’t sit in the front row, but you’ll be in the building.
Third, and this is the sneaky one: buy your way in through charity. Some stars or sponsors auction off their extra tickets for good causes. We’re talking $10,000 to $50,000 per seat. You could do a lot of good and awkwardly wave at Timothée Chalamet.
