Technically, yes! Rick appears in the final episodes of The Walking Dead series finale. He’s alive, frazzled, and still held captive by the CRM. He’s not dead—just very, very tired.
Then, in “The Ones Who Live” (the Rick & Michonne spin-off), we get the full story. He survived the bridge, survived the CRM’s experiments (they wanted his blood for experiments!), and eventually escapes with Michonne. They get a happy ending.
So, how does Rick die? The final answer is: he doesn’t. The Walking Dead pulled the ultimate prank on us. He got an explosion, a helicopter ride, a long nap in a cabin with Michonne, and then a peaceful retirement. Talk about a hero’s journey.
