A standard set of dominoes usually contains 28 pieces, also known as tiles or bones. Each piece has two halves, or ends, with a certain number of pips (those little dots) on each half. The number of pips on each half ranges from 0 to 6, which might seem like a small range, but trust us, it's enough to keep things interesting.
But, here's the thing: not all dominoes sets are created equal. Some sets can have as few as 21 pieces, while others can have as many as 55 or more. It really depends on the type of game you're playing, or the region you're in. For example, in some parts of the world, like Cuba or Puerto Rico, they play with a double-9 set, which has a whopping 55 pieces!
