Sometimes the wall wins. If you’ve tried everything and that pen mark is still mocking you, accept defeat. Go buy a tiny sample pot of paint. Match the color.
Paint only the affected area with a small brush. Feather the edges. No one will know, unless they’re a professional wall inspector. And trust me, they aren’t.
I have a wall that’s been painted over three times. It’s a palimpsest of my mistakes. It’s fine. It’s character.
A Quick “What Not To Do” (Because I Did It)
Don’t use bleach. It’ll lighten the ink but also lighten your paint, leaving a white blob. Don’t use a scrub brush like you’re cleaning a grill. You’ll just make a matte patch.
And whatever you do, don’t panic-spray water. Water just makes the ink run. You’ll turn a line into a puddle. I’ve done it. It was not my proudest moment.
You’ve got this. The wall is not your enemy. It’s just a canvas for your next attempt at being a functional adult. Now go, conquer that ink.
