Porch lights are basically neon signs for insects. And insects are spider snacks. Leave the light on, and you’re basically inviting a spider buffet to your doorstep. Switch to yellow or sodium vapor bulbs—they’re less attractive to bugs.
Or, even simpler: use motion-sensor lights. They scare off raccoons and keep the bug party from starting. Spiders don’t show up if the snack truck never parks outside.
