Please, I beg you, do not try using powdered sugar. It’s just white sugar with cornstarch, which is the fairy dust of sadness. It will make your cookies taste like a chalkboard eraser that’s been hugged by a ghost. Just don’t.
And don’t use artificial sweeteners unless you absolutely hate happiness and joy in all forms. Stick to the real stuff, even if you have to steal a neighbor’s molasses at 2 AM.
