You don’t need to be a racing tipster to make sense of it. The key numbers are simple: favourites have low odds (like 2/1), while underdogs have long odds (like 20/1). If you see a contestant’s odds drop dramatically overnight, it usually means they’ve just done something adorable, heroic, or accidentally hilarious.
Pro tip: Ignore the pre-show hype. Every year, a so-called “lock” for the crown fumbles on day one. Remember when everyone thought a certain soap star would breeze through, only to quit after a spider touched their hair? The jungle doesn’t care about your CV—it cares about character.
Instead, watch the first 48 hours of broadcast. That’s when the real personalities emerge, and the William Hill market settles into something resembling reality. Who cracks under pressure? Who gets peckish and throws a wobbly? The odds will tell you, but only if you’re paying attention.

Here’s a calm, no-pressure way to get involved. Set a tiny budget—like the cost of a posh coffee—and use it purely for fun. Place a small bet on the first to leave, then another on the last to be voted out. The second market is pure chaos, but that’s the joy of it.
Another sneaky tip: watch the William Hill “next elimination” odds an hour before the vote results are announced. If a contestant’s odds suddenly shorten (drop), it often means a late flood of bets from people “in the know.” It’s not a guarantee, but it’s a delicious little hint that the campfire gossip is real.

And please, for sanity’s sake, don’t bet on who wins the entire series until the final week. Too many variables—a sudden injury, a surprise romance, or a Twitter feud can flip everything. Keep it short and sweet. Like a good cocktail, it should be sipped, not chugged.
