Don’t panic yet. Easter is a weird, movable feast, so the rules change. Good Friday? Many locations are open, but with reduced hours. Easter Monday? Business as usual, baby—let the meatball frenzy resume.
But Easter Sunday itself? That’s the holy grail of “we’re closed.” You’ll walk up to those automatic doors, and they’ll just stare at you. Silently. Judgingly. Like a giant yellow-and-blue tomb.
Here’s the kicker: it’s not a universal law. Some IKEAs in the UK or Australia might stay open because, well, Easter is just a Monday public holiday there. But if you’re in North America, assume the warehouse is taking a nap.
What About the Food?
Oh, the Swedish food market! The holy land of frozen pancakes, Daim bars, and that mysterious herring. That’s closed too, friend. No grabbing a bag of cinnamon rolls for the road.
Your only option? Make your own meatballs from scratch. Or, you know, accept defeat and eat leftover Easter ham like a normal person. I’m not telling you which is more pathetic. (It’s the homemade meatballs. Don’t do it.)
Is IKEA Open on Easter 2026? Furniture Store Holiday Hours
But wait—you might get lucky with the IKEA Bistro (the little takeaway shop outside the exit). Some locations keep their hot dog stands running on Easter Sunday. Some. Call ahead. Don’t get your hopes up for a $0.50 cone of existential dread.
