Don’t just drive to the biggest M&S you know. Use the M&S store finder on their website. It’s updated for holidays. Waste five minutes. Save yourself an hour of driving to a closed store. Nobody wants to cry in a car park on Boxing Day.
Also, bring a bag for life. Your own, not the big plastic one you’ll buy at the till. Be prepared. This is a mission, not a leisurely stroll. You are a hunter-gatherer, seeking the holy grail of shortbread.
The Real Reason We Ask This Question
Let’s be honest. The question “Is M&S open on Boxing Day?” isn’t really about the store. It’s about hope. It’s the hope that the festive fun doesn’t have to end. That we can keep the celebration going just a little longer.
It’s the hope that you can buy a whole chocolate yule log for yourself. No judgment. It’s your life. It’s your Boxing Day. And M&S is your enabler.
So, will they be open? Yes. Will it be the full experience? Probably not. Will you find what you need? Almost certainly. The doors will swing open. The lights will be bright. And you will walk out with a bag of unexpected joy—and a lot of chocolate.
Go on. Plan your route. Set your alarm. Boxing Day 2026 is your oyster. Or rather, your mini pork pie. Now, that’s something to get out of bed for.
