Let’s get the big answer out of the way, so you can relax. No, Patsy Palmer is not Cole Palmer’s mum. Not even a little bit. Patsy Palmer is the brilliant actress who played Bianca Jackson on EastEnders, and she lives a lovely, calm life in California making candles and posting about her garden.
Cole Palmer’s real mum is a woman named Marie Palmer. She’s a regular, proud parent who you’d probably spot at the supermarket or cheering from the stands. No soap opera drama, no Walford market—just a mum who probably makes a mean cup of tea after a match.
So why does everyone get so tangled up? It’s simple: summer barbecues and pub quizzes. You know that moment when someone says, “Oh, that player’s got the same name as that actress,” and suddenly the whole garden is arguing about it? That’s where the magic lives.
Why We Care About Silly Mix-Ups
Think about the last time you misread a text from your mate. You thought they said “I’m bringing the quiche,” but they actually wrote “I’m bringing the kids.” You laughed, you groaned, and you told that story for a week. This is exactly the same vibe—just with a footballer and a soap star.
This mix-up matters because it’s joyfully human. In a world of serious news and complicated stuff, our brains love a good, harmless tangle. It’s like when you accidentally call your teacher “Mum” in class. Everyone cringes, then giggles. It bonds us.

Also, let’s be honest: the idea of Bianca Jackson running onto the pitch at the Etihad to give Cole a pep talk is amazing. You can almost hear her shout, “RICKY!” except it’s “COLE! SHOOT THE BALL!” It’s a beautiful, chaotic fantasy we all secretly enjoy.
