Here’s the only downside: Easter Sunday is a completely different story. Almost all Waitrose stores are shut down tight. No eggs, no bread, no hope.
So, the real lesson here is plan ahead. Do your big Easter Sunday shop on Holy Saturday. Then, save the fun Waitrose trip for Easter Monday when you’re already in your comfy jeans.

It’s the smart move. You get the satisfaction of a proper shop without the pre-Sunday stress. Plus, you can pick up those leftover Hot Cross Buns at half price.
How to Save Yourself a Drive
Don’t just assume your local store is on the same schedule. Always check online first. The Waitrose website has a store finder that lists specific bank holiday hours for each branch.
Smaller “Little Waitrose” shops in city centres might have different hours from the big supermarkets. A quick search on your phone while you’re making tea will save your bacon.
Trust me on this. I once drove 20 minutes to a “normally open” branch, only to find a handwritten sign on the door. The walk of shame back to the car is one I don’t wish on anyone.
