For months, the internet has been a vast wilderness of pixelated paparazzi shots and blurry shots from a drone that was probably just a confused seagull. We’ve seen more of Bigfoot than we have of Lilibet. But now? Boom. A birthday party photo dump that includes a toddler smashing cake and looking utterly adorable.
Let’s be honest, many of us suspected the child was a CGI creation, like Baby Yoda but with fewer green ears. Turns out, Lilibet is 100% human, and she has her mother’s cheekbones and her father’s, uh, questionable fashion sense for a one-year-old.
The Cake Smash of the Century
The photo that broke the internet features Lilibet wearing a tiny, floral dress and a face covered in what appears to be vegan, gluten-free, ethically-sourced buttercream. It’s a masterpiece of chaos. She looks like she just lost a fight with a rainbow, and frankly, she won.
One shot shows her staring directly into the camera with a look that screams, “I will one day demand the Koh-i-Noor diamond for my teething ring.” The kid has presence. She’s already mastered the “smize,” which is Tyra Banks-level talent for a toddler.
Also, can we talk about the decorations? There were no corgis. No tiaras. Just a lot of pastel balloons and a cake that cost more than my first car. It’s very “Montecito meets Pinterest for the super-rich.”
