I’m not a natural. The first time I tried, I spent more time underwater than above it. But the staff—shoutout to the lifeguards who fish you out like soggy laundry—are ridiculously patient. They’ll tell you to “bend your knees” and “keep your eyes up,” which sounds easy until you’re barreling toward a turn buoy at 20 miles per hour.
