Remember when kisses were shy? Not here. The first episode has a kiss that lasts 45 seconds. I counted. It’s wet. It’s loud. It’s the kind of kiss that makes your dog leave the room. The show is not holding back.
And the rain? It rains during every emotional confession. The production team must have a hose on standby. By episode four, you expect a flash flood. It’s hilarious. It’s also weirdly effective.
The Soundtrack is a Time Machine
Taylor Swift songs are back. Obviously. But they also use a deep cut: “Breathe (2 AM)” by Anna Nalick. That song is so 2006. It makes you feel like you’re in a Hollister store. The needle drops are perfect for driving the story.
Fun fact: The actors are older now. They are clearly adults playing teens. Lola Tung (Belly) has to act like a 16-year-old while being 22. She pulls it off by staring intensely at sunsets. It works.
