So the VJ Day Red Arrows flight path wasn’t just a route. It was a giant middle finger to 2026. A reminder that even during rubbish times, we can look up and go “wow.”
It connected Scotland’s lochs to London’s traffic jams. It made kids chase shadows in their gardens. And it gave us something to talk about besides toilet paper shortages.
Would I have planned it differently? Maybe. I’d have added a loop over my house. But I think the RAF knows what they’re doing. They gave us a sky full of hope.
Next time someone hands you a flight path, remember: it’s not just lines on a map. It’s a story. And this one had nine roaring, smoke-belching chapters.
Now, refill your cup. The sky’s still out there. And so is the memory of those deafening, beautiful jets.
