Here’s some good news. Many larger Tesco stores that are normally open 24 hours might close early on a bank holiday—think 6:00 PM instead of midnight. So, if you plan a late-night ice cream run at 10:00 PM, you might just find a quiet, dark car park.

The Express stores come to the rescue again here. They will often stay open until 10:00 PM or 11:00 PM. They are the night owls of the supermarket world.
The Sunday-Like Vibe
A Bank Holiday Monday often feels like a Sunday in terms of retail. The roads are quieter, people are relaxed, and the shops have a gentler pace. So if you see your local Tesco has “Sunday hours,” you are probably safe.
For example, a store that opens at 7:00 AM on a normal Monday might open at 10:00 AM on a bank holiday. It’s a subtle shift, but it can ruin your morning plans if you miss it.
