You might hear whispers of a “24-hour Morrisons petrol station.” Is that a myth? Kind of. A handful of them are actually open all night, but they’re rare unicorns. Only about 10-15% of Morrisons stations are truly 24/7. The rest lock up like Fort Knox after 10:00 PM.
Morrisons plan 24-hour opening store at redeveloped petrol station
How do you find the unicorns? Google Maps is your best friend. But don’t trust it blindly—one time, Maps said my nearest was open. I arrived at 2:00 AM to find a padlocked gate and a sad, flickering light. I felt personally betrayed.
The Early Bird vs. The Night Owl
If you’re an early riser, you’re in luck. Most stations open between 5:30 AM and 6:30 AM on weekdays. That’s perfect for grabbing petrol before the school run or the commute. You’ll beat the rush. You’ll feel smug.
But if you’re a night owl, prepare for disappointment. Nearly all Morrisons petrol stations close by 10:00 PM or 11:00 PM. Even the ones at big superstores. The shop inside might be open, but the pumps? Locked. Dead. It’s like a ghost town out there.
