Here’s the secret, and I’m only sharing because you look desperate: Add five hours to your local time if you’re in the U.S., then subtract 30 minutes for luck. Then assume a rain delay of 90 minutes. Then check X (formerly Twitter), but only if the person posting has verified that they’re not a bot. Finally, accept that you will miss the first two games because you were arguing with Dave.
In essence, Wimbledon time is a philosophical construct, not a physical one. It’s like a cat: it comes when it wants, leaves when it wants, and occasionally sleeps in the sun for three hours.
So, what time is Wimbledon on today? The honest answer: It’s on whenever the umpire stops checking his watch and yells “Play!” Check the app, set an alarm, and have a backup plan. And for the love of all that is holy, do not ask Dave.
