The CFL has been around since 1861, making it one of the oldest professional football leagues in the world. Yep, you read that right, 1861! That's even before the Forward Pass was invented, which, by the way, was allegedly created by a Canadian player, Billy Hughes. Talk about pioneering the sport!
Today, the CFL consists of nine teams, divided into two divisions: the East Division and the West Division. Each team has its own unique traditions and rivalries, which makes the games all the more exciting. And, with the Grey Cup being the championship trophy, you know the players are gonna give it their all.
The CFL is known for its fast-paced and high-scoring games, with an average of about 25 points scored per team per game. That's a lot of touchdowns, if I do say so myself! And, with the three-down system, teams have to be strategic and quick-thinking to succeed.
