Think about Ocarina of Time’s legacy. It’s the most critically acclaimed game of all time on Metacritic. A bad remake would be a disaster. Nintendo probably feels the pressure—like they have to get it perfect. You can’t just slap a coat of HD paint on perfection and call it a day.
Plus, the gaming landscape has changed. A linear dungeon-crawler might not click with today’s audience. They’d need to add open-world elements, better combat, maybe even voice acting. Imagine Navi actually talking to you. “Hey! Listen!” becomes “Excuse me, may I have your attention?” That’s terrifying.
Zelda : Ocarina of Time - le remake semble confirmé par une annonce
And let’s not forget: Nintendo loves to release hardware first, then software. They’re likely waiting for the next console—the Switch successor—to drop this remake as a launch title. That way, they sell millions of units before you even buy the game. Classic Nintendo.
When Could It Actually Happen?
Let’s do some math—Nintendo timeline style. The Switch 2 is rumored for late 2026 or early 2026. If a remake exists, it’s probably coming within the first year of that console. That puts us somewhere between 2026 and 2026.
But here’s my cynical take: I’ve been burned before. Remember when Metroid Prime 4 was announced in 2017? We’re still waiting. Ocarina of Time might suffer the same fate. Nintendo doesn’t owe us a release date—they owe us a finished game. So breathe, drink some Lon Lon Milk, and be patient.
Or don’t. I’m not your fairy. But honestly, checking Reddit every morning isn’t going to speed up development. Trust me, I’ve tried.
