As of now, HMS Queen Elizabeth is on deployment, taking part in exercises or training missions. Think of it as her giant, metal version of a road trip, but with fighter jets and a lot of sea salt. She could be anywhere from the North Atlantic to the Mediterranean, doing her thing.
She’s not parked in her homeport of Portsmouth, looking pretty. That would be too easy. Instead, she’s the star of a global game of “Where’s Wally,” but with radar blips and press releases.
The “I Know That Feeling” Analogy
Remember that time you lost your keys, then found them in the fridge? Tracking HMS Queen Elizabeth is way harder, but the payoff is similar. When you finally spot her—maybe in a news clip or a satellite image—you get that little rush of, “Aha! There you are, you magnificent beast.”
It’s like when you’re at a huge music festival and you lose your mates. You wander around, send frantic texts, and then BAM—you see them near the food truck, waving. That’s us with the carrier. She’s not lost; she’s just having a good time without telling us the exact coordinates.
