You can just pop a dried fig in your mouth like a gummy bear that went to finishing school. Or, do what I do: slice a fresh fig in half, drizzle it with a little balsamic vinegar and honey, and eat it as a snack.
It’s so good, you’ll forget you’re basically performing a internal detox. You can also chop them up into your oatmeal or yogurt, but honestly, they’re best on their own.
One warning: figs are sweet. Like, really sweet. Your brain will think you’re eating a candy bar, but your colon will know the truth.
The Timing Trick
Don’t eat figs right before you run out the door. This is a weekend snack or a “I’m staying home” snack.

Your body needs about 30 to 60 minutes to process their magic. You don’t want to be halfway through a meeting when the fig decides it’s “go time.”
So, eat your fig, drink a glass of water (hydration is key!), and then relax. Your gut will thank you with a standing ovation.
