Last week, a shadowy figure—okay, a Reddit user with too much time—claimed they saw a listing for a "Nintendo Switch 2: Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition" on Amazon. The price? A whopping $499.99, which is basically a mortgage payment for a treehouse.
But here’s the twist: the listing vanished faster than a Korok hiding under a rock. Nintendo, as usual, responded with the corporate equivalent of a shrug emoji. That silence is louder than a Guardian’s laser beam charging up in a quiet shrine.
What Would This "Surprise Bundle" Even Look Like?
Imagine a Switch 2 with a golden Triforce logo etched into the back, glowing like a divine beacon. The package would include Breath of the Wild 2 (yes, we’re still calling it that, deal with it) and a Master Sword stylus that’s too sharp for the touchscreen.
It’s the kind of bundle that would make scalpers cry tears of joy and normal humans cry tears of financial ruin. But here’s a fun fact: Nintendo has never done a launch-day Zelda bundle for a new console. The last time they tried, they gave us a GameCube with Wind Waker, and that thing is now a collector’s unicorn.
Speaking of unicorns, did you know the first Zelda game on the NES in 1986 was originally a floppy disk in Japan? Yeah, Link used to save Hyrule with a piece of magnetic plastic. Now we’re talking about a $500 bundle that might not even exist. Progress.
